Microsoft is committed to making Windows 11 an unprecedentedly secure operating system. Recently, in the latest preview version, Microsoft has introduced a new feature called "Administrator Protection", aiming to further reduce the abuse of administrator privileges and bring higher security to users.

In the earlier versions of Windows 11, the administrator privileges were always active, which undoubtedly increased the security risks. However, the emergence of the "Administrator Protection" feature has changed this situation. This feature effectively reduces the risk of malicious attacks on the system by only temporarily granting administrator privileges in specific circumstances.

It is reported that the "Administrator Protection" feature has been integrated into the Windows Security application, but it is hidden by default. Users need to manually enable this feature to enjoy the security it provides. Once enabled, whenever the system requires administrator privileges to perform an operation, it will force the user to authenticate, such as entering a PIN code or using Windows Hello, ensuring that only legitimate users can perform sensitive operations.

To further enhance security, the system creates a temporary access token when granting administrator privileges and deletes the token immediately after the operation is completed. This mechanism effectively prevents the abuse of privileges and potential security threats.

In addition to enabling the "Administrator Protection" feature through the Windows Security application, users can also edit it through Group Policy.

Microsoft's move not only reflects its emphasis on system security but also demonstrates its strength in technological innovation.
